Construction begins on new Andrews Road Primary School and Early Learning Centre

Construction begins on new Cedar Woods Andrews Road Primary School and Early Learning Centre

ASX-listed property developer Cedar Woods is pleased to announce that the Victorian School Building Authority has commenced construction on the new Andrews Road Primary School (interim name) and Early Learning Centre at Mason Quarter, marking a significant milestone for the growing community.

The state-of-the-art educational precinct, scheduled for completion in early 2026, will provide 525 places for primary school students, and offer comprehensive early learning services for up to 130 children daily.

Recently appointed Principal Leanne Tingwell will lead the primary school, which will feature modern learning spaces including two learning neighbourhoods, specialised areas for art, science and food technology, and a library. Students will also benefit from extensive sporting facilities including hard courts and a sports field.

Operated by Early Learning Victoria, the Early Learning Centre will deliver long day care alongside Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs. The centre will feature purpose-built outdoor play areas and dedicated health services, including two Maternal and Child Health consulting rooms and an allied health consulting room.

With a commitment to building thriving communities, Cedar Woods’ Victorian State Manager James Bovell said that the new site would address the growing local community’s need for education services.

“We are thrilled that construction has begun on this crucial site. We have seen huge population growth in the Wollert area,” said Bovell.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll noted the importance of having schools within walking distance for families. “Every child – no matter where they live – deserves access to a world-class education at one of our Victorian government schools. This new school will give families that little bit of relief from a busy morning with childcare, kinder and school all in one location.”

Hutchinson Builders have been appointed as builders for the project, with funding from the Victorian Government’s significant investment in education infrastructure. The primary school is part of a $947.7 million new schools construction program announced in the 2024-25 State Budget, while the early learning centre is one of 50 facilities funded through the $14 billion Best Start, Best Life reform.
