CADRE completes sold-out luxury residential project in Byron Bay

15 May, 2026

CADRE has completed and sold out its luxury compound, LUSSO, signalling the market’s appetite for high-end residences with sustainability initiatives.

Developed by CADRE, the development arm of the Tyas Family Group, LUSSO comprises six architecturally designed four-bedroom residences. The project, located at 113A Paterson Street in Byron Bay, aims to deliver a new generation of residential living where sustainability is a core structural principle rather than an afterthought.

“At its core, LUSSO is a design-focused project that majors on sustainability, with our eco-objectives informing every layer of the project,” said Founder and Creative Director of CADRE, Christopher Tyas.

“We’ve taken a performance-led approach from the outset, integrating passive design principles, energy efficiency and material selection into the fabric of the architecture.”

The homes are built to endure the coastal elements, featuring double glazing, heat pump technology, solar integration, and battery readiness. These features reduce reliance on mechanical cooling, leveraging the region’s natural cross-ventilation.

Inside, the residences function as private retreats. Each home includes an internal lift, secure double garage, and a landscaped courtyard complete with a private plunge pool and BBQ entertaining zone. The interiors are finished with natural timbers, eco-stone, and Miele appliances, creating a refined yet relaxed coastal palette.

Designed by local firm Davis Architects, the estate draws inspiration from a subtropical, mid-century Palm Springs aesthetic. The sculptural forms are characterised by crisp geometry and timber-slatted breeze shutters that wrap the façades, mediating the coastal light and airflow.

“At LUSSO, that meant creating homes that feel both open and private, with a strong connection to light, landscape and climate, while maintaining a level of refinement that reflects the Byron Bay setting,” said Davis Architects Principal, Ed Davis.
