The Australian Building Sustainability Association is a professional organisation that accredits building thermal performance professionals, works with government and regulatory bodies to formulate policy, and provide sustainability assessment services and advice to the building and construction industry, under the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) and the NSW Building Sustainability Index Thermal Comfort Protocol.

ABSA is also committed to improving the broader sustainability of Australian homes and buildings and works with a range of industry and research organisations in seeking to achieve that outcome.

Our services include:

  • Support for our 230 + individual and corporate members and Accredited Assessors.
  • Advice and information for Councils and building professionals.
  • Seminars and information sessions on building sustainability.
  • Accreditation and quality assurance schemes for Assessors.
