RAAFA has commenced work on its Stirling development — a $55 million project that will rejuvenate the northwestern corridor of its Air Force Memorial retirement living estate in Bull Creek, Western Australia.
The Stirling development will feature 63 apartments in one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations, along with a Residents Lounge and secure undercover car park on the ground floor.
RAAFA CEO Michelle Fyfe said the project aims to offer high-quality independent living options for retired Western Australians seeking a community-oriented lifestyle.
Fyfe stated: “RAAFA’s Air Force Memorial Estate blends the best of both worlds, offering residents access to tranquil, natural surrounds within the convenience of a well-connected community.
“We are delighted to be expanding our connected, amenity-filled, and thriving community, which we know suits the needs of Perth’s growing retired resident population.”
The Stirling development, part of Stage 6 of the RAAFA Air Force Memorial Estate master plan, replaces the former Sivyer, Harris, Fraser, and Ingram buildings.
It will accommodate contemporary purpose-designed apartments over six floors.
RAAFA’s Air Force Memorial Estate currently accommodates over 400 independent living residents, with the Stirling development set to welcome more than 60 new residents.
The estate also offers two residential care centres, a gymnasium, an indoor pool, tennis courts, and the renowned RAAFA Club.
Georgiou Group General Manager and the appointed head contractor for the development Steve Okill emphasised the collaborative effort with RAAFA and its consultants to align with the estate’s vision.
Okill stated: “We’re excited to continue this journey together and further strengthen our relationship as we bring the project to life.”
The Stirling development pays homage to the Short Stirling, a British heavy bomber used during World War II, reflecting RAAFA’s rich aviation heritage.
The Bull Creek estate, spanning 107,590 square metres, is also home to the Aviation Heritage Museum.
Construction on the Stirling project has commenced, with completion expected by June 2025.
