Arada has secured approval from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for London Place, a 33-storey residential development in the heart of Campsie’s rapidly evolving town centre.
The decision marks a major milestone for Arada in Australia and signals the company’s ambition to play a significant role in the regeneration of Sydney’s inner south-west.
London Place is the first of five projects the developer is planning for the area, reinforcing a long-term commitment to delivering high-quality housing and strengthening local communities.
The approval arrives at a defining moment for the suburb.
Campsie is undergoing one of the most significant urban transformations in Sydney’s inner south-west, anchored by the imminent opening of Campsie Metro Station.
Residents of London Place will be able to reach Sydney’s CBD by metro in under 20 minutes.
The metro connection is expected to reshape how residents of the area live and work, with the city’s employment, cultural and lifestyle assets placed firmly within easy reach.
London Place is positioned to benefit directly from that shift, sitting within walking distance of the new station.
Group CEO Ahmed Alkhoshaibi said the location reflects the company’s investment approach.
“In Campsie, the Metro is coming, a bold town centre vision is in place, and the community has real identity and energy,” said Alkhoshaibi.
“As our first approved project in Australia, London Place is also the first of five projects we are planning for the region, and together they represent a long-term commitment to this area.”
Designed by Woods Bagot, the tower will comprise 156 apartments, with 18 designated as affordable housing.
The mix spans two-, three- and four-bedroom residences, including sub-penthouse and penthouse homes on the upper floors.
The affordable housing component accounts for more than 11 per cent of the total apartments, adding to the project’s contribution to the local housing supply.
Residents will have access to a lounge, private dining room, music room and gym, alongside a covered BBQ terrace, lap pool, spa, sauna and outdoor seating areas.
The project carries a gross development value of $220 million. Construction is targeted to begin in the second quarter of 2027, with completion expected by the fourth quarter of 2029.
London Place aligns with the City of Canterbury Bankstown’s Campsie Town Centre Master Plan, which envisions the suburb as a health, lifestyle and cultural destination.
The plan includes a people-centred Beamish Street, enhanced access to the Cooks River, new civic infrastructure and significant housing and employment growth clustered around the new Metro station.
The development will deliver active ground-floor retail and public amenities within walking distance of the station, Beamish Street’s dining and retail precinct, Canterbury Hospital and the Cooks River corridor.
Approval followed the NSW Housing Delivery Authority’s recognition of the project as a State Significant Development, which enables a streamlined pathway through the planning process for major housing projects.
Secured concurrently with a rezoning of the site, approval was achieved in under four months, well within the authority’s benchmark target of 275 days.
The result shows how the State Significant Development pathway can speed up the delivery of major housing projects.
With four further projects still to come, Arada’s long-term plans for the Campsie area are only beginning to take shape.
The company also says it looks forward to working closely with the community as London Place and its four follow-up developments are brought to life.
