Highlife’s Co-Founder and Director, Elyse George, emphasises that the design intent was not about radical innovation but rather exceptional execution of timeless principles.
“The design isn’t loud. It’s not chasing trends or trying to make a statement that won’t age well. It just feels calm, grounded, and right,” she said.
“There’s a clarity to the design and a real confidence in not overworking anything. That kind of restraint is what makes it feel so considered and yet so effortless.”
At the core of Blonde’s architectural approach is a strong focus on facade expression and materiality that harmonises with the beachfront setting.
A palette of warm, natural materials — including brushed brass, oak joinery, and natural stone — has been carefully curated not just for immediate aesthetic appeal but for their longevity and ability to age gracefully over decades.
This choice reflects a commitment to sustainability in build quality and to providing homes that remain relevant and functional 20 years on.
BDA Architecture’s design features an elegant composition of vertical and horizontal elements, expansive glazing, and generous balconies to capture coastal breezes and maximise light.
Residences are purposefully oriented toward the ocean, with wide sliding doors and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions fostering a continuous visual and spatial connection with the seascape.
This creates what George describes as “a breathable flow between indoors and out,” reinforcing the sense of calm and grounded living that permeates the project.
The building’s form is articulated into three distinct zones: a highly detailed and landscaped base that anchors the structure into its natural environment, a middle section of glass, angled privacy screens, and balcony projections, and finally, a floating roof capping the tower with recessed glazing and private rooftop amenities that include pools and spas for the penthouse residences.
This tripartite organisation enhances the architectural rhythm and reduces the visual bulk, making Blonde an elegant addition to the evolving Bilinga skyline.
Inside, the residences range from three- to four-bedroom layouts and include a four-bedroom ground floor home, two expansive penthouses, and thoughtfully planned spaces that balance aesthetics with day-to-day livability.
The interiors mirror the facade’s restrained approach with a warm, natural palette and refined detailing that complements rather than competes with the beachfront environment.
