The South Australian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) has announced the AIB Professional Excellence in Building Awards for 2016.
More than eight building and construction professionals have been recognised at this year’s Awards which were attended by leading industry figures at a gala dinner on Friday, 13 May, 2016.
“These awards are the ultimate personal achievement for a professional builder. They recognise the contribution and leadership shown by individuals to the successful completion of a construction project, reinforcing the fact that the success of any building firm can be attributed to those responsible for construction projects”, said Norman Faifer FAIB, AIB’s National President.
The judging criteria for the AIB Professional Excellence in Building Awards weights the contribution of individuals and the challenges that they face. A decision to bestow a Professional Excellence Award is based upon challenges associated with the complexity of the project in its construction phase as opposed to the characteristics of the completed structure.
Recipients of Professional Excellence Awards within the AIB SA Chapter will go forward to the National Awards that will be held in Melbourne on Saturday, 3 September, 2016 at the Park Hyatt Melbourne.
The Australian Institute of Building congratulates the 2016 SA Building Professional of the Year, Paul Melville MAIB from Hansen Yuncken for his work on the Lyell McEwin Hospital Redevelopment Stage C.
“On behalf of the AIB and the industry I congratulate all the winners. The quality of the winners is testament to the high level of professionalism that exists in the construction industry”, Mr Faifer said.
