Blueprint endorsement marks united industry reform

23 Sep, 2025

The Blueprint for the Future has received a major endorsement from the National Construction Industry Forum, marking the first time government, unions and industry have united behind a single plan to reform Australia’s construction sector.

ACA Chief Executive Officer Jon Davies said the Blueprint represents an unprecedented consensus that sets a clear direction for tackling the cultural, structural and productivity challenges that have held the industry back for too long.

“This is the alignment we need to deliver lasting change,” said Davies.

The ACA supports the Blueprint’s focus on culture, safety, productivity and sustainability as the foundations of a healthy industry.

“The commitment to developing a Joint Construction Industry Charter as the first priority is a practical step in setting shared expectations and lifting standards across the sector,” said Davies.

“Construction is critical to Australia’s future, but we cannot deliver the infrastructure and housing the nation needs without reform.

“The Blueprint provides the roadmap — and the industry must now move with urgency to turn words into action.”

The endorsement highlights the importance of collaboration and shared accountability, with support from all key stakeholders, positioning the Blueprint as a genuine turning point for the sector.

Backing from the National Construction Industry Forum elevates the plan beyond recommendations, signalling an industry-wide commitment to drive practical reforms that place safety, culture and sustainability at the forefront.
