The Australian Interior Design Awards has returned for 2023, with a record-breaking 215 projects shortlisted for this year’s program.
Celebrating its 20th year, the Australian Interior Design Awards are regarded as the country’s pre-eminent industry-based awards program.
Acknowledging works across residential, commercial and public sectors, the esteemed program recognises and celebrates excellence in interior design, conferring national and international significance.
Delivered by the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and Architecture Media’s Artichoke magazine, this year’s program includes an impressive array of projects from Australia’s most talented design minds.
Following the challenges of recent years, the Australian design and architecture industry has evolved and responded to its changing landscape to deliver innovative, beautiful and inspired projects across all sectors, reshaping the parameters of design and creativity for the 2023 Australian Interior Design Awards program.
This year’s jury, convened by Geraldine Maher, Director of Maher Design, is as follows:

- Jeremy Bull, Principal, Alexander and Co (NSW)
- Maria Danos, Principal, Maria Danos Architecture (VIC)
- Brian Donovan, Principal, BVN (NSW)
- Stuart Krelle, Director, Luchetti Krelle (NSW)
- Rosie Morley, Principal, Fender Katsalidis (VIC)
- Georgie Shepherd, Director, Georgie Shepherd Interior Design (SA)
- Aaron Wooster, Former Lead of Interior Design, Smart Design Studio (VIC)
The full list of awarded and commended projects will be presented at the Gala Presentation Dinner,
which will be held at the Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne on Friday 2 June 2023.
