Located on Little Lonsdale Street in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, the new 35-storey Union Tower development will offer 165 sophisticated one and two-bedroom apartments, with only five apartments per typical level to suit the building’s tall and slender design.
The development also features a six-storey podium that will provide amenities including shared and private work spaces, gymnasium, bike storeroom, common workshop facilities and a retail precinct.
JSK Melbourne based Director, Sean Wong said he was delighted to have marked the company’s first topping out in Australia. Due to the project’s success JSK Group plans to expand its portfolio nationally and invest more resources into the Australian market.
“We tend to find that our buyers, especially from Asia, are shifting their focus away from Europe and returning to Australia and Asia. So that is where we will focus our resources into 2018.”
Sean says that JSK Group will look at developing townhouses and houses for the owner occupier market up to 20km’s from Melbourne’s CBD.
“This will be the first time we have ventured into townhouses and houses in Australia. We are looking forward to offering a new range of products,” says Sean.
Shane Rothe, Rothelowman Architects says working with JSK Group on its first Australian development has been very successful for both of companies.
“Union Tower is an elegant glass building designed in the round and delivers high quality apartments, many of which are corner located. We look forward to completing the project now that structural top out has been successfully achieved on time by Watpac.”
With a confined site of 400 square metres, Watpac Construction’s Victoria State Manager, Nick Pavlovic, said the project required some innovative solutions due to its busy inner-city location.
“I commend the Watpac team for their ability to reach this milestone on schedule, while successfully managing the physical and logistical challenges presented by working in a constrained inner-city site,” Mr Pavlovic said.
