National tier-one construction company Probuild has been selected as the preferred contractor for the redevelopment of The Glen shopping centre in Melbourne’s south-east.
The $490 million redevelopment in Glen Waverly is set to transform the shopping experience for the local community. It includes an expansion to approximately 78,000 square metres of gross lettable area, housing a fresh food market hall, two dining precincts, a Town Square, the latest format David Jones, new mini majors and international brands.
Probuild Victorian Managing Director Luke Stambolis says the project is a great result for Probuild in what is a particularly challenging redevelopment project and working within a live environment.
“Continued community access to existing shops, parking and services is critical to the success of this redevelopment. Probuild’s expert teams are well-equipped to minimises disruption and will ensure The Glen continues to be a convenient place to shop, dine and visit throughout the redevelopment,” says Luke Stambolis.
Probuild will be working closely with co-owners Vicinity Centres throughout the project to refine and optimise their exciting vision for The Glen.
Probuild’s Group Managing Director, Simon Gray, is also incredibly pleased with the result of preferred contractor.
“The Glen stands to be an exemplar collaboration between developer, co-owners and builder. Probuild is privileged to deliver what will be a new benchmark in major retail development,” says Simon Gray.
Construction is expected to commence this month and be completed in early 2020.
