Perth’s first urban-commercial village set to transform CBD experience

Perth's first urban-commercial village set to transform CBD experience

ISPT has unveiled plans for Perth’s first urban-commercial village, a $40 million redevelopment project set to revitalise the heart of the city’s CBD.

The ambitious transformation of Enex and the adjoining A-grade office tower at 100 St Georges Terrace is scheduled to open in autumn 2025, promising a unique blend of dining, retail, and leisure experiences.

The centrepiece of this development will be the new City Canteen, featuring seven food and beverage venues.

Familiar names like Hi Thai, Mi Shanghai, and Soul Origin will return to their CBD roots, joined by newcomers The Cutting Board and CP Curry House.

With over 400 seats between the City Canteen and the adjoining Central Lounge, the precinct aims to become a landmark destination for Perth’s office workers, visitors, and residents alike.

Amanda Steele, Head of Property at ISPT, emphasised the project’s significance: “We are thrilled to be nearing the completion of Perth’s first ever urban-commercial village and mark the return of a dining precinct in the heart of Perth CBD.

“Enex will offer a place to shop, meet, dine and relax all under one roof — which is something that has been missing in the heart of Perth CBD.”

The redevelopment will expand Enex’s retail offerings to more than 30 retailers across two floors, complementing existing premium brands such as Gorman, Aesop, and Decjuba.

This expansion aims to create a buzzing urban hub that connects two of the CBD’s flagship commercial districts through tailored retail amenities.

Sustainability is a key focus of the project, with the precinct targeting high NABERS Energy and Water ratings.

A new 60kW solar façade system, set to be one of the largest in Western Australia, is expected to reduce the building’s greenhouse gas emissions by 6 per cent.

Designed by Woods Bagot architects and constructed by ADCO Construction, the redevelopment will also include upgrades to the 100 St Georges Terrace office tower, creating a mixed-use space with state-of-the-art amenities.

This investment follows ISPT’s successful redevelopment of Forrest Chase in 2019, underscoring the company’s commitment to enhancing Perth‘s CBD.

As the autumn 2025 opening approaches, anticipation builds for this innovative urban-commercial village that promises to redefine the Perth CBD experience.
