Working in the construction industry creates a work environment that is full of a combination of potential hazards that can cause harm to workers if the correct safety procedures and precautions aren’t implemented. One of the reoccurring incidents seen in the industry is falls from heights, being a leading cause of fatality and injury and for this reason awareness of potential hazards and safety training is critical.
Pro-Visual Publishing has made implementing safety that little bit easier, thanks to their recent release of two Construction Site Safety Guides, one for New South Wales, in partnership with The Master Builders Association of NSW and the other for Queensland distributed to the industry free of charge.
Each guide features a variety of different safety topics pertinent to the industry and states, some of which include information on scaffolding mesh and containment, asbestos risk management international standards for Australia, change to laws concerning chain of responsibility and hydration tips. The Guide’s content aims to educate and instil the importance of safety on worksites.
To aid in engagement and retention of safety information, augmented reality (AR) has been incorporated to add a digitally interactive aspect. By simply downloading the free Pro-Vis AR app, workers can scan any AR capable content to receive safety content straight to their smart device.
