Hyatt House South Melbourne opens July 2025

Hyatt House South Melbourne, Australia’s first Hyatt House-branded hotel, has officially opened for bookings with arrivals starting July 1, 2025.

This marks a significant milestone for Hyatt as it introduces its extended-stay concept to the Australian market, catering to a growing demand for flexible, comfortable, and home-like accommodations for longer stays.

Located in the vibrant South Melbourne precinct, the 97-room hotel benefits from a prime location with easy access to key transport links and local attractions such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne Arts Precinct, ANZAC station, and the South Melbourne Market.

This strategic positioning makes it an ideal base for independent travellers, hybrid workers, families, and corporate guests seeking a seamless extended stay experience.

The hotel is part of the mixed-use Oasis Residences development, designed by the renowned Hayball architects.

The property reflects an elegant and neutral aesthetic, featuring wide corridors and calming interiors that create a sanctuary-like atmosphere in the heart of Melbourne.

The 19-storey development also includes residential apartments with amenities such as a rooftop infinity pool, gym, private dining room, bar, and children’s playroom, complementing the hotel’s offerings.

Accommodation options at Hyatt House South Melbourne include King Den rooms, Studios, and One-Bedroom Suites, with flexible configurations such as dual-key rooms.

Each guestroom is thoughtfully designed with contemporary interiors and residential-style amenities, including kitchenettes equipped with a kitchen island, refrigerator, and stovetop, allowing guests to enjoy home-like convenience.

The hotel also embraces a pet-friendly policy, welcoming cats and dogs up to 30kg in rooms with balconies.

The hotel redefines the extended stay market by offering a range of services and facilities tailored to long-term guests.

These include a 24/7 reception, housekeeping services, the H Bar — a social hub for breakfast and evening cocktails — a fully equipped gym, and communal spaces for working, socialising, or relaxing.

Furthermore, Hyatt House South Melbourne is committed to eco-conscious operations, promoting sustainable travel practices.

Hyatt House’s entry into Australia reflects the brand’s global evolution to meet the needs of modern travellers who seek more space, autonomy, and a sense of home while on the road.

The hotel joins a global portfolio of over 130 Hyatt House properties worldwide, bringing its signature hospitality and warmth to the local extended-stay market.
