Golden Age Group breaks ground on Transformative SKY SQR development in Box Hill

Golden Age Group has officially commenced construction on SKY SQR, a landmark mixed-use development set to redefine urban living in Box Hill, Melbourne.

The ground-breaking ceremony took place on  June 24 at 519 Station Street, marking the beginning of this ambitious project.

Spanning 72,000 square metres, SKY SQR will feature two 17-floor residential towers atop a three-level retail podium and food precinct covering approximately 12,000 square metres.

The development will also include a large underground public car park with 120 spaces.

Damien Hehir, Development Director from Golden Age Group, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are thrilled to announce the commencement of Sky Square, a project that will set new standards for urban living and community engagement in Box Hill”.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Whitehorse Mayor Cr Denise Massoud and local town councillors.

Jeff Xu, Managing Director of Golden Age Group, welcomed special guests from FK Australia, the lead design firm, as well as executives from Icon, the construction contractor, and Local, who will manage the residential towers.

SKY SQR is designed to be a vibrant, integrated multi-use precinct fostering community spirit and connectivity.

Upon completion in late 2025, residents will enjoy exclusive amenities such as an 80-seat co-working space, private dining rooms, a 25-metre indoor pool, exercise and wellness studios, and entertainment facilities.

The development will also feature 1,180 square metres of outdoor green spaces, balancing urban living with natural surroundings.

Mayor Massoud officially broke ground, signalling the start of construction activities that will bring SKY SQR to life over the next 18 months.
