The Tyas family, renowned Northern Rivers locals and the visionary developers behind purpose-led studio CADRE, have announced their latest impact-driven project: SOLHAVEN, a consciously designed, mixed-use village set to reshape the future of regional living.
Located in the heart of the Northern Rivers and designed in collaboration with award-winning architects Cera Stribley, SOLHAVEN will bring together architecturally crafted townhouses, flexible office suites, and a curated selection of food and beverage offerings focused on local produce, quality, and conscious consumption.
More than a development, SOLHAVEN is described as a generational contribution by the Tyas brothers—James, Nicholas, and Christopher.
At its core is a village square, envisioned as the social and functional hub designed to foster creativity, connection, and wellbeing.
Around this centrepiece, the village’s residential and commercial elements are arranged to support fluid, modern lifestyles that blend living, working, and gathering in one cohesive space.
Every aspect of the project is guided by a ‘Neighbourhood Manifesto’ — a philosophy developed by CADRE that places empathy, sustainability, creativity, and social impact at the centre of place-making.
The design also embraces building biology principles, ensuring all homes and workspaces are resilient, breathable, low-tox, and responsive to Australia’s climate challenges, from UV exposure to humidity and air quality.
For CADRE, this approach represents more than a trend.
“Sustainability isn’t something we add at the end — it’s embedded from the beginning,” said Christopher Tyas, Founder and Creative Director of CADRE.
“SOLHAVEN is about more than architecture. It’s about people.
“It’s about fostering real community, designing for wellness, and offering a lifestyle rooted in purpose.
“We’re creating a village for conscious living — a place where people can feel proud of where they live and connected to the people and environment around them.”
SOLHAVEN builds on CADRE’s growing portfolio of regenerative developments in the region, including The Lumber Yard in Bangalow — a cultural precinct now home to some of the region’s most exciting creatives and conscious retailers; Bangalow Business Park, an industrial village designed for future-forward local enterprise; the Grafton Lifestyle Centre, a sustainably-led shopping precinct; and LUSSO, a luxury residential offering in Byron Bay that reflects CADRE’s signature blend of design, quality, and environmental care.
Each project reflects the Tyas family’s belief that great development is not just about return—it’s about contribution.
With its human-first design, conscious food culture, and locally attuned energy, SOLHAVEN is positioned as a village for those who seek more than just a place to live — it’s for those who want to live with clarity, creativity, and connection.
