Deicorp has officially unveiled Showground Village, a vibrant new retail and lifestyle hub in the heart of Castle Hill’s Hills District.
The multi-level centre, spanning 9,500 square metres, features 26 specialty retailers and a spacious 1,400 square metre public plaza, conveniently located just steps from the Hills Showground Metro Station.
The grand opening took place on Sunday, August 31, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by prominent figures, including the Premier of NSW, the Hon Chris Minns MP, the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces, the Hon Paul Scully, The Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne, Castle Hill MP Mark Hodges, and Landcom CEO Alexander Wendler.
Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne highlighted the centre’s significance to the local area, stating: “The Hills’ population is booming, with close to 140,000 additional residents expected in the next 15 years.
“The Showground Precinct, appropriately located next to the Metro, will accommodate over 9,000 additional dwellings with a population of around 20,000 people once fully developed.
“Over 5,000 dwellings have already been approved and are expected to be constructed over the coming years.”
Anchored by Woolworths and BWS, Showground Village is designed as a community meeting point, housing a diverse mix of retailers, including health and fitness operators such as Priceline and Anytime Fitness, alongside family dining options, cafes, and essential services.
The retail village is a key component of the broader Hills Showground Station Precinct project, an urban renewal initiative spearheaded by Landcom and Sydney Metro.
Deicorp was appointed to deliver both Showground Village and the adjacent Precinct East development, which together will introduce over 1,300 new dwellings and generate more than $2 billion in economic activity.
Deicorp Founder Fouad Deiri emphasised the project’s role in shaping connected communities, stating: “Hills Showground Village follows Deicorp’s philosophy of delivering homes that provide great lifestyle and amenity within a vibrant, transport-connected community.
“With the Metro providing direct access to employment, education, and entertainment hubs, we’re proud to deliver a retail centre that supports the way people live, work, and connect today.”
Located within walking distance of Castle Hill Showground and the nearby Hills Showground Pavilions development, the new centre is expected to create at least 400 ongoing jobs, delivering lasting benefits to the regional economy.
This latest opening strengthens Deicorp’s leadership in developing Metro-linked communities, complementing their growing portfolio that includes Tallawong Village, Falcon and Alexander at Crows Nest, and the recently approved Kings Bay Village in Five Dock.
Showground Village is situated at 15 De Clambe Drive, Castle Hill, and is open seven days a week.
