Parkview Constructions has been appointed by Frasers Property Australia to deliver the first apartment building at Midtown MacPark in Sydney.
Excavation work has already commenced on-site and construction of the first building, MAC Residences, is set to begin in September with completion expected in the second half of 2023.
Nigel Edgar, General Manager Development NSW, Frasers Property Australia said the appointment of Parkview Constructions follows an extensive tender process.
“The start of construction of the first homes is a major milestone for Midtown MacPark and we’re pleased to have a company with the local expertise and proven track record of Parkview on board to bring these new homes to life.”
“This is an exciting time for the people who have already purchased at MAC Residences as well as members of the local community who are eagerly awaiting the new homes, amenities and parks coming soon to the new heart of Macquarie Park.”
Parkview Constructions Operations Manager, Glenn Moran, said MAC Residences is beautifully designed and will become a local landmark for Midtown MacPark.
“This is the building that officially puts Midtown MacPark on the map and the start of construction is an exciting first step for this major new urban community,” Moran shared.
Construction is expected to take 26 months and generate approximately 200 local jobs.
MAC Residences has been designed by Bates Smart. Located at the highest point of the site, the building rises up to 24 storeys with most apartments in the building offering sweeping district views, and city views on the upper levels.
The building form is bold and elegant and brings a slice of Manhattan-style apartment living to the heart of Macquarie Park, while the interiors are inspired by the seasons.
Frasers Property is working with the NSW Government to deliver the $2.1 billion Midtown MacPark master-planned mixed-tenure community, which will integrate approximately 3,300 apartments with a range of community facilities including a proposed school and childcare, aged care, a new central park, pocket parks and playgrounds, a community centre, pool and gym. It will be developed in stages over the next 10 to 12 years.
Frasers Property is targeting a 6 Star Green Star Communities rating for Midtown MacPark and the vision is for the community to be carbon neutral in operation.
The natural turpentine forest which frames the community will be preserved and the popular Shrimptons Creek will be regenerated with new running and walking loops.
The homes at Midtown MacPark are specifically designed to be healthier and more comfortable to live in, using solar energy generated on-site and with energy-saving features, green roofs, shading devices and new tree plantings throughout the community. A car-share service is also planned.
