Pellicano has brought forward the construction of its newest Melbourne residential development in Oakleigh, Alke. The project construction is now well underway, six months earlier than originally planned.
Pellicano’s original proposal was for 115 apartments but the number of dwellings was reduced to 89, increasing the size and ratio of larger apartments to accommodate the demand for larger, premium products. Pellicano continues to re-design and combine apartments, which could see this number drop even further.
Pellicano managing director, Nando Pellicano, said they responded to the demands of the market and developed a number of new floor plans that include generous two and three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments, providing long-term, quality homes for inhabitants.
Pellicano is also offering an additional service to purchasers of three-bedroom apartments and new releases which enables purchasers to meet with the Alke team and tailor apartment finishes to suit their preferred style. Recently, this process supported the sale of the penthouse residence for $1.1 million.
“We are finding that customisation is high on the wish list of the modern purchaser especially in the local owner-occupier market where interest in Alke is stemming from,” said Pellicano.
“This group is looking for apartments to enjoy long term, so they want to create an environment that reflects who they are and their own design tastes.”
The external and internal design scheme has been created by renowned architecture studio, SJB, who specifically created the project to fit within Oakleigh’s existing architectural fabric through its use of brickwork, sculptured form, and significant setbacks.
The interior design creates inviting residential dwellings with excellent amenity and outlook.
Alke is located just 13 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD and within minutes to world-class education, major arterials, incredible dining options and the largest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere; Chadstone The Fashion Capital.
Oakleigh also offers high connectivity through its public transport routes, and enjoys access to renowned public and private schools, as well as universities.
“With a growing demand from buyers for proximity to education, employment and entertainment, Alke is in an affordable established suburb, with a strong infrastructure network which provides access to key employment clusters and education institutions via both road and public transport,” said Pellicano.
The development basement works are progressing well with an expected project completion date in mid-2019.
