A $1.2 billion commercial office building has officially ‘topped out’, and is now the tallest building in North Sydney, according to its developer, Winten Property Group.
Located immediately adjacent to the new Victoria Cross Metro Station, 1 Denison is 158-metre premium grade commercial office tower which was constructed by leading global contractor, Multiplex.
Development Director at Winten Property Group, Stuart Vaughan, said that topping out is a significant milestone for the business.
“We are demonstrating our commitment to job creation in North Sydney and helping stimulate the growing local economy. 1 Denison is an exciting commercial project that will set a new precedent for office towers in North Sydney.”
“1 Denison will become a defining landmark on North Sydney’s skyline amongst several new hotels that are moving into the area. When completed over 6,000 people will reside in the building,” he added.
To date, more than 2,700 construction workers and 36,400 cubic metres of concrete have been used in the delivery of 1 Denison.
Regional Managing Director at Multiplex, David Ghannoum, said it has been fantastic to watch this unique landmark come to life and that they are pleased to have achieved this significant milestone for Winten.
“As well as installing curved glass panels to create the inclined façade, Multiplex has been challenged by the tight site, with building works occurring from boundary to boundary and many other large sites within close proximity.”
“It’s a busy site in a precinct experiencing revival, and it’s great to be a part of it,” said Mr Ghannoum.
1 Denison has a total net lettable area of 61,600 square metres across 39 storeys and is expected to achieve a minimum 5 Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia as well as 5 Star NABERS rating and Gold WELLS rating.
The premium office tower features a unique façade designed by high-profile architects, Bates Smart, a perimeter core with floor plates ranging from 1,336 sqm to 2,518 sqm across three rises, a two-level lifestyle precinct and basement parking for 225 cars.
The project is scheduled for completion in September 2020.
