AUSTRALIA — The Star Gold Coast has reached a significant construction milestone with the topping out of its new 65-storey hotel and apartment tower, marking a pivotal moment in its expansive $2 billion master plan.

This new $400 million tower, managed by The Star Residences, is set to open in early 2025 and will provide 437 residential apartments alongside a 202-room, five-star hotel.

This development is the second major tower project undertaken by The Star Entertainment Group in collaboration with Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium.

It follows the completion of the first 53-storey tower, which introduced the Dorsett hotel brand to Australia in September 2021.

The new tower, designed by DBI and constructed by Multiplex, stands at 200 metres and will significantly enhance the Gold Coast’s skyline with its striking golden glass façade.

General Manager of Hotels at The Star Gold Coast, Steve McPharlin, and Project Director Silas Croucher celebrated the milestone, emphasising the project’s contribution to the local economy and job creation.

McPharlin highlighted the commitment to enhancing the Gold Coast’s appeal as a top-tier tourism and events destination, while Croucher noted the high demand for investment in the area.

In addition to the residential and hotel accommodations, the tower will feature a variety of amenities, including a luxury pool area and a retail promenade.

The project is part of a broader vision to expand The Star Gold Coast as a world-class tourism and entertainment hub, aligning with the upcoming 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Star Entertainment Group and its partners are also developing the $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane, which began a phased opening in August 2024, further showcasing their commitment to transforming Australia’s tourism landscape.
