The $103 million Brisbane Casino Tower development in South Brisbane has topped out at 105 metres , achieving a significant milestone and contributing to the revitalisation of one of Brisbane’s highest growth areas.
Multiplex Regional Managing Director for Queensland Graham Cottam said the company was excited to be contributing to the urban renewal of South Brisbane.
“Now that we have reached our highest point, we can really see the transformative impact Brisbane Casino Towers will have on this area of Brisbane,” Mr Cottam said.
“We’re delighted to have achieved this important milestone for Metro Property Development and are looking forward to handing over a fantastic building later this year,” he said.
Construction on the tower commenced in late October 2015 and topped out on the 2 March 2018. Almost 2,000 people have worked on-site during this time.
The site’s 1,844 square metre footprint comprises a tower floor plate of 1,150 square metres and a gross building area of 45,000 square metres.
Metro Property Development Managing Director Luke Hartman said the company was pleased with the apartment sales outcome which was directly linked to developing a quality site.
“We believe our development has responded to Brisbane’s demand for quality, high-end apartments,” Mr Hartman said.
“Our immensely popular and distinctive riverside tower development has been a sell-out, with all 378 apartments sold off the plan in record time,” he said.
“We are extremely pleased that our development will make a lasting and positive impression on the local South Brisbane landscape, and contribute to a more connected community.
“We are also very proud of the fact that our Brisbane developments continue to buck market trends,” said Mr Hartman.
“Settlements on our Brisbane Casino Tower will perform well due to the building’s location, tower amenities and the quality of the apartment finishes.
“Our apartment developments sell, bringing the company’s total number of apartments settled to 1,400 within the past 12 months.
“In addition, we boast the best rental yield of any capital city, consistently achieving yields around 4.5 to 5 per cent,” he said.
Multiplex has completed 90 projects in Queensland over the past 27 years in the residential, tourism, commercial, health and infrastructure sectors. It has operated in Brisbane for more than 25 years and is the only Tier 1 contractor with a local office.
Metro Property Development’s Brisbane Casino Towers stands in the heart of South Brisbane and was designed by Brisbane-based ML Design – now part of the award-winning architectural practice bureau^ proberts – with structural design by BG & E.
The 30-level structure is within walking distance of Brisbane City, Southbank Parklands, the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), the State Library, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, and key transport networks. The facility hosts impressive communal facilities including an infinity pool, spa, gymnasium, sauna, and residential deck area.
The popularity of development also partly lies in the generous allocation of eight floors of parking space, including six basement and two podium levels within the building.
Residents are expected to move into the tower in late June 2018.
