Marriott grows Australian presence with Deicorp

27 Feb, 2026

Sydney’s skyline is set to welcome a new architectural landmark, with leading developer Deicorp announcing a partnership with Trilogy Hotels and Marriott International to deliver the city’s first AC by Marriott hotel within its flagship Hyde Metropolitan development.

Designed by acclaimed architects Candalepas Associates, the Hyde Metropolitan tower is a refined blend of luxury residences and premium hospitality, and its inclusion of the 104‑room AC Hotel by Marriott – Sydney Hyde Metropolitan marks a major expansion in Deicorp’s mixed‑use development portfolio.

The building’s elegant façade and design-led interiors exemplify contemporary urban sophistication, combining quality construction with timeless design principles.

“Hyde Metropolitan will bring together homes, hospitality and lifestyle in one of Sydney’s most connected locations,” said Fouad Deiri OAM, Founder and Chairman of Deicorp.

“Partnering with Trilogy Hotels and Marriott International to deliver the first AC Hotel in Sydney reflects the project’s vision of refined elegance and style.

“It introduces a grand new hotel experience to the Hyde Park precinct: design-led, elegant and perfectly positioned to reflect our ambition for this building and the city around it.”

Occupying the lower levels of the tower, the AC Hotel by Marriott will bring a European-inspired aesthetic to Sydney’s CBD.

Interiors will incorporate warm materials, clean lines, and minimalist detailing — elements characteristic of the AC Hotels brand, which operates more than 250 hotels worldwide.

Guests will have access to a signature ground-floor restaurant and a Skybar on level six, offering views across the Hyde Park precinct.

Construction on the Hyde Metropolitan is already underway on Liverpool Street, a site chosen for its exceptional connectivity to Museum Station and the forthcoming Gadigal Metro.

The project is being delivered with a focus on quality materials, energy efficiency, and integration between the residential and hospitality components, which is a hallmark of Deicorp’s recent city projects.

For Marriott International, the partnership deepens its presence in a highly competitive market.

Marriott International’s Director, Hotel Development – Australia, New Zealand and The Pacific, Tristan Cooper, said: “Expanding Marriott International’s footprint in the tightly held Sydney market is always a milestone, and to do so alongside Deicorp – with a mutual dedication to high quality and standards — is particularly pleasing.

“This lifestyle hotel is slated to bring a sophisticated edge to the Sydney market, backed by our world-leading Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program with nearly 271 million global members, who thrive on fresh, distinct experiences.

“We thank Deicorp for their trust in Marriott International and AC Hotels, and we look forward to a successful collaboration with Trilogy Hotels as they lead the hotel’s management.”

Independent hotel management company Trilogy Hotels, which currently manages 18 investment-grade hotels across Australia, will be responsible for operating the property once complete.

“We are very proud to partner with Deicorp and Marriott International to manage Sydney’s first AC Hotel,” said Scott Boyes, CEO of Trilogy Hotels.

“This prestigious project aligns with our commitment to delivering operational excellence for hotel owners while providing guests with unforgettable experiences.”

With completion scheduled for late 2027, the AC Hotel by Marriott – Sydney Hyde Metropolitan is poised to set a new benchmark for design-led accommodation in the city’s cultural heart, reflecting Sydney’s growing appetite for sophisticated, mixed-use urban developments.
