Leighton Asia wins Elan Emperor contract

CIMIC Group’s Leighton Asia has been awarded a major contract by the Elan Group, one of India’s leading real estate developers, to deliver a new luxury residential project in Gurugram.

The development, known as Elan The Emperor, will see the construction of 10 towers, each rising approximately 145 metres, across a built-up area of around 490,000 square metres.

The contract is valued at approximately $200 million and is set to generate significant revenue for Leighton Asia.

Elan The Emperor will be located in the same area where Leighton Asia is currently building Elan The Presidential, an eight-tower project also commissioned by the Elan Group.

The new project is part of Elan Group’s larger 50-acre integrated township in Gurugram, reflecting the region’s rapid growth and increasing demand for premium housing.

Construction is scheduled to commence in September 2025, with completion targeted for 2030.

The scope of work includes civil and structural works, as well as management of subcontractors, for a development that aims to achieve IGBC LEED Gold certification, underscoring a strong commitment to sustainability and green building standards.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaría highlighted the significance of the repeat business with Elan Group, stating: “Securing further work for the Elan Group is a sign of Leighton Asia’s commitment to safety and operational excellence.

“We are pleased to be providing another premium residential project for the growing population of the region.”

Leighton Asia Managing Director Brad Davey emphasised the company’s longstanding presence in India and its focus on quality, stating: “With more than two decades of on-the-ground experience in India, Leighton Asia takes pride in setting new benchmarks for quality and sustainability in large-scale residential projects.

“We are proud to be undertaking this prestigious project for the Elan Group.”

The project further cements Leighton Asia’s reputation as a leading contractor in India’s luxury residential sector, building on its ongoing partnership with the Elan Group and its track record of delivering landmark developments in the region.
