Sydney-based development company, Dare Property Group, has released the vision for its second luxury residential apartment project in Tamarama, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
To be known as ‘Kaylpso’, the project will be built on the corner of Fletcher and Dellview streets, and feature 11 bespoke residences of one, two and three-bedrooms, including a penthouse and two sub-penthouses, each designed to maximise highly-coveted views over Tamarama beach, which is just a six-minute walk away.
The striking design by MHN Design Union (MHNDU) evokes the beguiling coastal cool and understated elegance of Tamarama and creates the illusion of the building being carved into the sloping street.
The unique and rare beachside location has also inspired the interior design, with renowned Melbourne-based MIM Design creating timeless interiors designed to capture views at every opportunity.
Danny Avidan, Director of Dare Property Group, detailed that the building needed to be designed to reflect and uplift its site. Additionally, given Kalypso’s exemplary location, they sought a design that not only echoed the area but truly maximised every potential view over Tamarama Beach.
“Tamarama is a place with a spell-binding energy. It’s not often you have the opportunity to develop in a location of this calibre, with views over a secluded cove, surrounded by stunning rugged cliffs,” Mr Avidan said.
“However, we’ve now had this opportunity twice, firstly with The Wave, which was also designed by MHNDU and has now become a landmark Tamarama building.”
“Given MHNDU’s understanding and appreciation for the beauty of Tamarama, they were an easy choice for Kalpyso, which they’ve crafted with the contrasting tones and textures of the rugged coast it overlooks, foremost in their minds. It’s been designed to emulate this raw natural beauty with its curved walls and refined material palette.”
“And inside, MIM Design has paid homage to the nearby beach with stone benchtops and a colour palette of various tones of sand, ivory and subtle shades of blue, reflecting the nearby rugged cliffs and surf,” he shared.
The crowning glory of Kalypso are the three luxury three-bedroom penthouses. Featuring unrivalled views to Bondi and Tamarama from separate balconies, marble fireplaces, free-standing bathtubs complete with ocean view, expansive dressing rooms off the master-bedrooms and copper-famed wine cellars.
