DARE begins construction on luxury Fitzroy apartment project

03 Mar, 2026

DARE Property Group has begun construction on Saint David, a multi-million-dollar high-end residential project in the heart of Fitzroy, marking the developer’s first major venture into Melbourne’s boutique apartment market.

The development will feature 17 architecturally designed residences priced from $1.3 million, with six already sold ahead of the project’s official launch.

Construction has been awarded to builder Samssons, with completion slated for the third quarter of 2027.

The design, led by Melbourne practice Cera Stribley, takes cues from Fitzroy’s industrial heritage featuring fluted concrete façades, timber detailing, and expansive glazed windows that encourage a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

To complement the architectural vision, DARE Property Group engaged award-winning interior designer Fiona Lynch, principal of the Melbourne-based studio of the same name, to create interiors that are tactile, refined, and responsive to the project’s urban setting.

“The interiors embrace a balance of restraint and materiality,” said Lynch.

“The design responds to a tactile, textural quality, curating a dialogue between natural finishes and crafted details.

“Each space is carefully composed, offering three distinct palette options that remain grounded in warmth, depth, and artisanal craftsmanship.”

Lynch, whose studio is celebrated for its sculptural use of materials said Saint David takes inspiration from Fitzroy’s creative and eclectic urban fabric.

“Saint David is nestled within the heart of an urban neighbourhood,” she said.

“This multi-residential development is conceived as a light-filled addition to the lively, residential-rich fabric of Fitzroy.

“Custom joinery and bold gestures elevate the experience, ensuring a unique point of difference for both residents and buyers.

“Saint David represents a new generation of development, one that honours the character of its neighbourhood while introducing a quiet sophistication through a commitment to quality, detail, and connection to place.”

DARE Property Group Director Danny Avidan believes market fundamentals are strongly positioned for renewed growth in the Victorian market.

““We were very inspired by Fitzroy as a locale, and have incorporated various design elements within Saint David that reflect the unique character that make it such a sought-after area.”

With construction underway and completion expected in late 2027, Saint David is set to become a new architectural landmark for Melbourne’s inner north, fusing craftsmanship, texture, and design integrity in one of the city’s most character-filled postcodes.
