Construction has just commenced on a new 11 storey commercial office building known as 12 Creek Street – The Annex, creating Brisbane’s newest boutique address in the heart of the Golden Triangle.
Designed by BVN for Dexus real-estate group, the building has been described as ‘a setting that is tailored to meet contemporary requirements for a connected workplace’, and one that boosts the unique identity of the site. Broad Construction is the builder for the development and Mark Curtain and Chris Butters at CBRE have been appointed to market the project.
“The Annex is a unique new opportunity for smaller businesses to have a front door address in Brisbane’s Golden Triangle,” commented Dexus Chief Investment Officer, Ross Du Vernet.
“This development will create an innovative multi-let product for Dexus’s Brisbane portfolio, and is in addition to plans for the broader Waterfront Precinct to transform Brisbane’s Eagle Street Pier and surrounds into a leading premium business and leisure destination,” announced Du Vernet.
The fresh and innovative building was designed to have an association with the surrounding fig trees, including the memorable experiences of ‘being under the canopy’ and gazing through foliage. The Annex was also designed to have 24/7 public outdoor space on the lower ground, intended as a space to meet with colleagues for coffee or grab a bite to eat under the spectacular skyrise. Plans for significant living vertical trellis and greenery characterise the building, expressing a ‘sense of life’ to the building.
The Annex is also set to offer an exclusive rooftop sky terrace with views overlooking the Brisbane River, further pushing occupant wellbeing and a community atmosphere. The building is set to have abundant natural light, fresh airflow and green spaces designed to provide benefits to workers and visitors alike. The structure is targeting a minimum 4.5-star NABERS Energy rating, with construction on the way to be completed in late 2019.
