Chevron has officially appointed Brookfield to develop their new corporate headquarters, located in Perth’s Elizabeth Quay. More updates on the project’s development are still to come.
The 29 storey building will offer 52,785 square metres of ‘flexible and high-quality’ office space, with market insiders sharing that the building could be worth over $500 million after completion. According to Chevron Australia’s Managing Director Nigel Hearne, ‘the decision was linked to the group’s successful start-up and ramp-up of its five-train LNG and domestic gas business’.
“This agreement (with Brookfield) signifies our long-term commitment to the Western Australia community and our workforce,” announced Mr Hearne.
“We appreciate the support we have received from the State Government and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority as we progress these plans.”
The building is set to offer significant local opportunities, and Chevron has plans to occupy the building by 2023. The tower is to be built on the 6795sqm Elizabeth Quay Lot 7 on the corner of Barrack Street and The Esplanade. Chevron paid $64 million for the site back in 2013.
More information is still to come on this development.
