Construction of a new shopping centre at Frasers Property Australia’s The Grove community in Tarneit in Melbourne’s west. Construction is set to begin in mid-2024 and is expected to take two years to complete.
The Grove retail centre comprising two sections divided by Bethany Rd will be linked by a pedestrian crossing and reserve.
The retail section will feature a full-sized 4000 square metre supermarket in addition to more than 20 retail outlets across a further 4000 square metre centre that includes a bakery, greengrocer, nail bar, pizza restaurant, chemist and gym.
Facing the retail precinct across Bethany Rd will be a learn-to-swim school with a 25-metre pool, a fast food outlet, service station and a car wash.
There will be 260 car spaces for the retail precinct, and additional 60 spaces to service the swim school and adjacent tenants. Bus stops on either side of Bethany Rd will link through to the Tarneit and Werribee railway stations, ensuring convenient and seamless connections.
Empire Properties will develop, construct and manage the new shopping centre on the adjacent site it purchased from Frasers Property in 2020.
Empire Properties founder Tony Masalkovski said The Grove retail precinct will be a striking addition to the shopping options in the area.
“We know the residents of The Grove have been eagerly awaiting their new shopping zone, and we’re excited to get started on delivering what will be the heart of this great community,” he said.
Nestled between the Werribee River and Davis Creek, The Grove is a 167-hectare community which will eventually be home to 2600 families.
Many of the community’s parks, bike paths, playgrounds and wetlands are already complete, including seven hectares ha of waterways.
