Mayoh Architects’ Education Team has merged with Fulton Trotter Architects in a strategic move that strengthens both firms’ positions in the education sector.
The integration comes as Peter Mayoh, founder of Mayoh Architects, prepares for retirement after 46 years of leading a successful practice.
The merger sees Mayoh Associates Jonathan Henley and Melodie Kaplan, along with Interior Designer Alveena Fenessy and Graduate of Architecture Rafaella Bioza, joining Fulton Trotter Architects at their Surry Hills office.
This collaboration brings together over 100 years of combined experience in award-winning architectural design, particularly in the education sector.
Peter Mayoh expressed confidence in the transition, stating: “Integrating the Mayoh team with Fulton Trotter Architects will facilitate a seamless transition for our current and prospective education clients, enabling us to uphold and enhance our valuable client relationships.”
He added that the move would allow him to begin his transition to retirement, planning to operate as a sole practitioner in early 2025.
John Ward, Director of Fulton Trotter Architects, welcomed the Mayoh team, highlighting the synergy between the two practices.
“Jonathan, Melodie, Alveena and Rafaella fit in well with our current team and each complement our skills and amplify our work in the education sector,” Ward said.
He emphasised the shared values and similar project experiences of both firms.
The merger is expected to benefit existing clients, with Mayoh planning to refer education sector contacts to Jonathan Henley, who joins Fulton Trotter as a Senior Associate.
This move ensures continuity in client relationships and project delivery.
Fulton Trotter Architects, known for their expertise in design and master planning for education, health, and seniors living sectors, boasts an impressive portfolio of completed projects across New South Wales and Queensland.
The addition of the Mayoh team is set to further enhance their capabilities in educational architecture.
As the architecture industry witnesses this significant transition, the collaboration between Mayoh Architects and Fulton Trotter Architects marks a new chapter in educational design, promising innovative and exceptional projects for years to come.
