The Victorian and Tasmanian Chapters of the Australian Institute of Building’s 2018 Professional Excellence in Building Awards (PEBA) have just been announced. The judging panel was ‘impressed’ with the quality of submissions overall, this year.
“This year’s nominees have once again demonstrated that we are part of a vitally important industry that is delivering homes, workplaces and facilities to an exceptional standard, whilst working in a most complex and challenging environment,” shared Jury Chair, Dino Krommydas.
The judging panel was pleased with the quality of the entries from construction projects that were delivered by professionals that “utilised planning, innovation and construction management skills that are nothing short of world class”.
The evening showcased a variety of Victoria’s best builders, along with their project and construction managers. The projects that were shown on the night ranged from small retail fit outs to restaurants, hospitals, schools, childcare centres, universities, apartments and multi-million-dollar high-rise buildings within the mix. The winning projects were all completed with some form of various constraints and complexities, further being awarded for their contribution and improvements to the Australian built environment.
“The Awards recognise the contribution and leadership shown by individuals to the successful completion of a construction project, reinforcing that the success of any building firm can be attributed to those responsible for construction projects,” stated AIB’s National President, Paul Heather.
“The construction professionals of our industry should be proud of their achievements at this year’s Awards and all award recipients, as well as their teams, are to be applauded for their skill, diligence and innovation in delivering their products to the greater community” also shared the Jury Chair.
Recipients of Professional Excellence Awards will go forward to the National Awards to be held on Saturday, 7 September at the National Arboretum in Canberra.
