Construction industry leaders to take part in 2025 Vinnies CEO Sleepout

Leaders from the construction industry will join senior executives and peers from across the business world and broader community in the 2025 Vinnies CEO Sleepout, marking the 20th anniversary of the event.

The initiative aims to raise funds and awareness for the St Vincent de Paul Society’s homelessness services by having participants spend a winter night outdoors, experiencing first-hand some of the challenges faced by people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

The event will take place on 19 June, with construction leaders Ashley Agostino (Bentino), Kirrily Flowerbloom (Flowerboom Construction), and Rory San Miguel (Propeller Aero) among those representing the industry this year.

More than 122,000 people are currently experiencing homelessness across Australia, including 35,000 in New South Wales.

The funds raised through the Vinnies CEO Sleepout enable the St Vincent de Paul Society to provide early intervention and ongoing support, including food, housing, healthcare, case management, and assistance tailored to individual needs.

The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW operates over 100 services and programs across the state, which rely on the funds raised from the CEO Sleepout to continue providing support.

In the past year, the Society supported 11,800 people through its homelessness, housing, health, and community inclusion services.

“The Vinnies CEO Sleepout brings together people from a variety of backgrounds and industries in the name of a shared purpose: working to take action on homelessness,” said Niamh Mannion, St Vincent de Paul Society NSW Acting CEO.

“We’ve seen so many people take part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout over the past two decades gain a greater understanding of homelessness and how they can use their positions of influence to push for a more just society where people have the safety of a home.

“The continued support the event has received over the years has been heartening and we look forward to welcoming new participants who can play a part in ensuring that our services can meet the need that exist now and going forward,” said Mannion.

The 2025 Vinnies CEO Sleepout will take place on Thursday, 19 June, with New South Wales events scheduled in Sydney, Newcastle, and Wollongong.

CEOs and senior leaders can register to participate and donate online at ceosleepout.org.au.
