The annual Master Builders ACT: ‘Building Excellence Awards’ was held on 28 June with 1467 attendees gathering at the National Convention Centre.
Michael Hopkins, CEO of Master Builders ACT said each year, the best local builders, trades and design teams are celebrated through the Building Excellence Awards program.
“We’ve had a significant increase in the number of finalists in the awards, across both residential and commercial, so this year is shaping up to be one of our most competitive yet.
“Finalists are up from last year’s 151 projects to 193 this year, resulting in large raises across the board. The Custom Built Home category is up 136 per cent, with homes built over $1M experiencing the most growth in finalists. Kitchen Projects are up 89 per cent and the Home Renovation/Extension category has risen 242 per cent.
“The commercial sector has also seen the same trend with Commercial Buildings projects being recognised as finalists up 120 per cent and the Commercial Fitout, Refurbishment or Alteration categories also seeing finalists up by 53 per cent.
“This is great news for local residents, businesses and organisations as they can move forward with confidence in their projects, knowing that the Master Builders have a strong community of quality providers who take pride in their craft and strive to deliver excellence.
