Ushering in a New Era at the International Built Environment Week 2025

September 2025 wil usher in a new era of professional mastery and sector transformation at International Built Environment Week 2025

The region’s premier built environment event, International Built Environment Week (IBEW), returns from 3–5 September 2025 with a renewed focus on elevating industry expertise through its inaugural IBEW Expert Series.

Spearheaded by BCA International a wholly owned subsidiary of the Building and Construction Authority, in partnership with RX Singapore, this year’s conference introduces a dynamic new format designed to drive deep knowledge exchange and empower built environment professionals to become domain experts in an ever-evolving landscape.

Under the theme “Today’s Professional, Tomorrow’s Expert,” the IBEW Expert Series aims to upskill and empower built environment professionals to deepen their expertise, bridging the gap between industry know-how and future-ready specialisation. Designed to support continuous upskilling across the sector, the conference brings together a curated line-up of international experts and seasoned practitioners across the industry.

This year’s theme focuses on technical mastery and real-world application. Attendees can expect in-depth sessions on topics like prefab efficiency, carbon emissions tracking, and AI use in BIM led by industry practitioners such as Andrew Dewdney, Head of Modern Methods of Construction at Kier Construction and Ethan Ow, CEO of Wenti Labs. With a strong emphasis on case studies and implementation, the programme equips professionals with practical tools to drive innovation on the ground.

IBEW 2025 aims to equip the workforce with deep, domain-specific knowledge that can be applied to real-world challenges. By focusing on technical mastery, innovation and cross-border collaboration, the event empowers industry professionals to take the lead in shaping a resilient and future-ready built environment.

Held alongside the IBEW, BEX Asia 2025, Asia’s leading built environment trade exhibition, will feature more than 250 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge solutions in innovation, digitalisation and sustainability. Highlights include a robotics and automation showcase, the ConTech Exchange Pavilion, and live demonstrations of next-generation technologies. This year’s exhibition also includes Obayashi’s 60th anniversary showcase, where the company will unveil a bold new chapter in construction, from live remote-operated machinery to carbon-capturing concrete and climate-positive materials.

Other Key Highlights at IBEW 2025 include:

IBEW Industry & Awards Dinner (3 September): An evening of celebration recognising excellence in transformation, design, safety, and quality across the sector. Prestigious awards include Company of the Year, Project of the Year, Universal Design Excellence Award, Design and Engineering Safety Award, and Quality Excellence Award.

CORENET X Industry Seminar (4 September): This seminar offers built environment professionals a first-hand look at Singapore’s regulatory transformation. With insights from pilot projects and implementation milestones, the session will help consultants, contractors, and developers navigate upcoming changes to regulatory submissions and digital project delivery. Attendees will also hear from agencies and industry leaders involved in shaping CORENET X’s evolution, ensuring readiness ahead of full roll-out.

Building Engineering Seminar (5 September): Hosted by BCA’s Building Engineering Group, this seminar delves into the latest technical developments and policy updates in the structural and geotechnical engineering space. Attendees will gain practical insights into topics such as project safety, construction resilience, and engineering innovation, with real-world case studies presented by seasoned practitioners.

● BEngaged@IBEW Career Connect (5 September): Designed to nurture the next generation of built environment professionals, the Future Talent Programme offers students and young professionals a gateway to career insights and industry exposure. Through Career Connect, participants will have the opportunity to interact with employers, explore internship and mentorship opportunities, and hear from young professionals already thriving in the field. The programme also includes the finals of the International Building Design Competition, recognising the creativity and technical skills of emerging talent.

IBEW 2025 will be held at the Expo & Convention, Marina Bay Sands. Please refer to the website for the full programme and list of speakers.
