Sydney Build Expo champions Australian innovation with Start-Up Zone launch

Sydney Build Expo champions Australian innovation with Start-Up Zone launch

Sydney Build Expo, Australia’s largest construction and design show, returns to the ICC on 29-30 April, bringing together 28,000+ attendees, 750+ speakers across 16 stages, 700+ exhibitors, live demos, CPD workshops, networking events, and more. This year also sees the launch of the Start-Up Zone, giving new businesses and non-profits the chance to showcase their innovations and product solutions.

The Start-Up Zone is an exciting platform for Australian and international early-stage companies and non-profit organisations that are driving innovation across the built environment, creating a unique opportunity to gain visibility, connect with potential partners, and accelerate growth.

Supporting both local businesses and international talent looking to support the Australian market in this way is integral to Build Expo philosophy, strengthening the innovation ecosystem and creating the opportunity for attendees to get ahead of the curve on what’s shaping the future.

Qualifying businesses will be either no more than five years old or registered non-profits, with fewer than 10 employees, to ensure a true spirit of innovation. Participating companies will gain direct access to potential clients, collaborators, and investors in a dynamic environment where cutting-edge technologies and new business models can be discovered by the Sydney Build community of influential buyers and decision makers.

Michael Wong, Portfolio Director for Sydney Build Expo comments: “The launch of the Start-Up Zone marks an exciting new chapter for Sydney Build. Australia’s construction industry is evolving rapidly, and we want to ensure that early-stage innovators have the platform they deserve. By bringing start-ups into the heart of the show, we’re not only showcasing the future of the built environment – we’re helping to accelerate it. This zone will give emerging companies the visibility, connections, and opportunities they need to scale, while giving our attendees a firsthand look at the ideas and technologies that will shape the industry for years to come.”

Following its launch in Sydney, the Start-Up Zone will also be bringing the industry and its innovators together at Victoria’s biggest construction and design show, Melbourne Build Expo (25-26 November, MCEC).
