LG unveils smarter, energy‑saving DUALCOOL AI

10 Nov, 2025
LG unveils smarter, energy‑saving DUALCOOL™ AI

LG Electronics (LG) has officially unveiled the Australian release of its upgraded DUALCOOL AI Air residential air conditioner (RAC), now available nationwide from October 2025.

Marking the next stage in smart home climate control, the new model leverages the company’s enhanced AI Core‑Tech to deliver optimised comfort and energy efficiency for modern households.

The launch arrives as Australians brace for what’s expected to be an unusually hot summer, with temperatures forecast to soar between November 2025 and January 2026, according to the Bureau of Meteorology’s latest Climate Outlook.

Rising energy costs have also shifted buyer preferences, with many Australians ranking energy efficiency as a top priority alongside the growing demand for smart, app-connected appliances.

LG’s latest DUALCOOL AI Air system embodies these evolving expectations through intelligent performance and automation that fine-tunes the indoor climate.

Equipped with Smart Inverter technology, the unit detects ambient temperatures and automatically adjusts airflow direction, speed, and temperature to maintain consistent comfort throughout the day.

Its AI Air mode, enabled by the LG ThinQ® app, analyses spatial conditions and user behaviour to create tailored airflow pathways.

The system first delivers a rapid blast of cool or warm air, then softens to an indirect Soft Air mode once optimal temperatures are reached — balancing comfort with efficiency.

Virender Rana, Head of Business of HVAC Solutions at LG Electronics ANZ, said the new release is a reflection of LG’s human-focused innovation philosophy.

“At LG, we believe AI make life better,” said Rana.

“Our new DUALCOOL AI Air solution perfectly embodies our approach to AI, known as Affectionate Intelligence, where technology intuitively understands and proactively cares for your family’s comfort and wellbeing.”

Rana said the design takes a human‑centred approach, ensuring LG’s innovations fit naturally into the home to enhance daily comfort.

He added that the system has been built to recognise and respond to each household’s specific needs, delivering strong, efficient cooling for greater indoor ease.

According to Rana, LG’s goal is to create smarter, more intuitive living environments that support any lifestyle and help Australians enjoy a cooler, more comfortable summer.

Beyond cooling and heating performance, the DUALCOOL AI Air introduces intelligent energy management and air purification tools aimed at health- and cost-conscious homeowners.

Sleep Timer+ learns usage patterns to maintain ideal nighttime temperatures, preventing the discomfort of mid-sleep chills while operating quietly.

For households concerned about rising electricity costs, Energy Manager+ allows users to set preferred consumption limits through the LG ThinQ app.

The system then automatically regulates output to stay within target usage.

Additional smart features, such as Window Opening Detection, detect sudden room temperature changes to enter energy-saving mode and prevent unnecessary power loss.

The new model also prioritises cleaner indoor air. LG has integrated a multi-stage cleaning process, including Freeze Cleaning™ and Auto Clean+, which can be activated via the app’s One-click Scheduled Cleaning mode.

The deluxe version incorporates Plasmaster Ionizer+, designed to reduce bacteria and odours associated with Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa — supporting better air quality for Australian families.

Now available through authorised LG specialists, the DUALCOOL AI Air promises to make “life good” for Australians seeking intelligent comfort control during one of the hottest summers on record.
