Developer Capital Corporation has announced the appointment of construction firm Westbourne to deliver BOND, a 10-level, 80-apartment project and revitalised Club environment on the site of the Bondi Junction RSL. Capital Corporation is delivering the luxury residential project, which will also see the rejuvenation of Bondi Junction’s Club Bondi Junction RSL.
Part of the area’s regeneration includes opening the street frontage on the corner of Gray Street and Bronte Road into a welcoming and dynamic location with cafes and dining options.
Designed by Group GSA, the building features a contemporary façade that resembles butterfly wings, while key heritage elements at street and level one have been retained and will be restored.
The apartments will feature high-end finishes with kitchens and bathrooms designed by Koichi Takada Architects.
Residents of the new apartments will have access to a landscaped rooftop created by Urbis, which includes an outdoor cinema, barbecue areas and a yoga lawn.
Civil construction company, Moits, has commenced the demolition of the nonheritage elements of the former Club’s structure. Other early works include excavation of the three-level underground car park and basement, before Westbourne takes over in December. The project is due for completion during the first half of 2023.
Capital Corporation’s founding chairman Steve Grant says works have started early which means the program has been accelerated.
“Getting boots on the ground and work underway is very exciting and means not only buyers will be in their homes but Bondi Junction RSL can get back into their new home and start a whole new chapter, which is brilliant news for the community,” he says.
