Victoria Tower Adelaide celebrates topping out milestone

Victoria Tower Adelaide celebrates topping out

Victoria Tower Adelaide has officially marked a major construction milestone with a ‘topping out’ ceremony, celebrating the completion of the top floor of the $200 million, 38-storey tower at 32-38 Grote Street — the former site of the La Boheme nightspot.

The event, attended by South Australia’s Minister for Housing & Urban Development, Hon. Nick Champion, Opposition Leader Vincent Tarzia, and other dignitaries, signals the rise of one of Adelaide’s tallest buildings, now standing at 120 metres and set for full completion in spring later this year.

The ceremony also saw developer Auta Group unveil plans for its next major project: a landmark mixed-use development on neighbouring Franklin Street, further cementing its commitment to Adelaide’s urban growth.

Victoria Tower Adelaide, constructed by Synergy Construct, is now the city’s fourth-tallest building and a prominent addition to the CBD skyline.

The project involved more than 1,300 workers and required approximately 14,000 cubic metres of concrete and 1,620 tonnes of steel reinforcing bars during construction.

The development offers 289 residential apartments — including studio, one, two, and three-bedroom options, as well as penthouses across the top two levels — plus eight floors of commercial space.

Its central location places residents and businesses within walking distance of major amenities such as the tram line, Rundle Mall, Victoria Square, Chinatown, the Central Market, and several universities.

James Guo, Managing Director of Auta Group, highlighted the strong market response, with over 90 per cent of apartments already sold.

“Interest in Victoria Tower Adelaide has certainly met our expectations because world-class inner- city living is becoming increasingly attractive to the market and is now realisable in Adelaide,” Guo said, thanking Synergy Construct for their dedication to quality.

Building on the success of Victoria Tower, Auta Group revealed its next major venture: a dual-tower development at 108 Franklin Street.

The project will feature a 17-level international hotel — introducing a new global hotel brand to Adelaide — and a 21-level residential building, both designed with a refined Japandi interior style that blends Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics.

The hotel will cater primarily to business travellers, offering amenities such as a bar, swimming pool, restaurants, and a gym, while the residential tower promises meticulously designed apartments balancing aesthetics and functionality.

Victoria Tower Adelaide stands as a testament to the city’s rapid transformation and growing appeal as a destination for both residents and investors seeking premium inner-city living.

As the tower nears completion, anticipation builds for both its official opening and the next wave of city-shaping projects set to redefine Adelaide’s skyline.
