A Perth designer and manufacturer of luminaires is one of the first to launch a lighting specification platform, designed to configure, bookmark, specify and collaborate on luminaries for all built projects. Unios developed ‘Toolbox’ a universal platform to simplify the light selection process for builders, developers, architects and designers.
In a 2017 study, 94% of architects, engineers and designers stated they had difficulties with the lighting specification process because of inaccurate and missing technical data. With the ultimate goal to improve the disruptive process for their users, Unios created the Unios Toolbox platform as a reimagined way for external stakeholders to find the right products with unmatched accuracy.
The platform allows users to create purpose-built luminaires fit for projects of all shapes and sizes, streamline workflow for specification and scheduling and allow for total collaboration, between colleagues and distributors.
“In our initial research, we identified an inefficiency in the way lighting was being specified into projects, so our journey started and ended with turning this inefficiency into an efficiency,” said Paley Ho, General Manager at Unios.
What started as an idea, has now revolutionised the lighting specification process for anyone involved in specifying lighting for projects. With Unios Toolbox integrated within the Unios website, any relevant product updates made internally will update in real time to the platform. Unios also states the innovative platform has one of the most comprehensive libraries of specifications and data, which can be downloaded to XLS and PDF files.
In the fast-paced movement of the digital age, times are changing, and Unios is maximising technology to save time and money. “Specification is changing rapidly with technology being the greatest enabler to streamline this once convoluted process,” stated Paley.
Determined to lead the way with this advanced platform, Unios has secured a way for relevant collaborators to create coordinated decisions on lighting for various projects.
