Australia’s leading diamond tool manufacturer, Syntec Diamond Tools, has been providing solutions in concrete sawing, drilling, and grinding for over 25 years. The company has now broadened its range of Australian Made blades further to ensure a diverse range of applications is covered.
“At Syntec we work closely with our customers, exploring their needs and listening to their feedback”, says General Manager – National Sales & Marketing, Phil Badcock. “We’ve always made custom-made tools for our clients but are now rolling them out into our general portfolio.”
Part of the newly introduced product range are Syntec’s Early Entry Blades, available for soft, medium, and hard concrete. Phil explains, “A common issue when pouring concrete is the occurrence of random cracks in the surface when the concrete hydrates and sets. During this process, the material shrinks, and tension develops internally. To prevent these random cracks from occurring, controlled, shallow cuts can be made with our Early Entry Blades, reducing the stresses within the material. As a rule of thumb, the gold blade is for same day cutting, the red blade is for next day cutting and the magenta blade is for cutting after 2-3 days.”
Also new to the range is Syntec’s Cordless Quick Cut Blade. “We designed these blades especially for hand-held, battery-operated quick cut saws”, Phil tells us. “Often blades drain the battery of these saws very quickly. Syntec’s Cordless Quick Cut Blades, however, feature a shorter than standard, 10mm segment which reduces the surface drag and provides a faster cut by allowing for more pressure on the segment surface.
As a result, the draw on the battery is much lower. The high quality, laser welded segments also enable full use of the segment depth, providing a long blade life.”
Syntec’s Managing Director Paul Freer further points out, “My business partner, Dennis Clift, and I have been in the diamond tool business for more than 40 years now. In all those years we have worked with customers from quite different backgrounds, whether they be well-established pro cutters specialised in certain applications or tradies who only use diamond blades occasionally. Our aim as a business is to provide the ideal solutions for all these unique needs. Therefore, we have split our concrete and asphalt blades into four distinct blade ranges, all fulfilling varying requirements and optimised for different applications.”
Besides their extensive concrete cutting offering, Syntec also manufactures a wide spectrum of diamond blades for other materials, such as masonry and ductile iron, as well as core bits and surface grinding and polishing tools.
