Association of Professional Builders expands international operations with Canadian acquisition

Leading business coaching service for residential home builders the Association of Professional Builders (APB) today announced the acquisition of Best Contractor Coach, a Canada-based coaching company focused on builders.

The Best Contractor Coach business complements APB’s existing operations across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States of America, allowing APB to expand their international operations further, providing coaching solutions to a new market while also bringing more experience and industry knowledge to the team.

APB Co-Founder Russ Stephens described the new partnership as a strategic move for the Gold Coast-based business, with the company wanting to expand its footprint further into the Canadian market for some time, building on APB’s existing 325 members already operating across North America and Australasia.

“Canada has always been an important market for us with a strong presence of existing members in Ontario and Alberta,” Mr Stephens said.

“Best Contractor Coach has been operating with strong growth for three short years, boasting an extraordinary retention rate, which is proof of a top-notch coach leading the company.

“We knew this acquisition was the right move and the founder of Best Contractor Coach, Clint Best, was the right person for the team with core values that aligned with our own, an established reputation and invaluable industry knowledge and experience.”

The Association of Professional Builders is currently executing a plan to expand its membership from 325 building companies to over 25,000 within the next five years. The acquisition of Best Contractor Coach was a strategic decision to help accelerate the company’s expansion within the Canadian market.

Best Contractor Coach founder – Clint Best

Clint Best, the former Founder of Best Contractor Coach, said he is impressed by APB’s expertise in the business coaching services for custom home builders.

“I’ve been coaching for 18 years and have been looking to either expand the company myself or join forces with another,” Mr Best said.

“It was a great opportunity for me to exit my company, and I’m excited to bring my expertise to APB and focus on what I really love to do. APB has very good systems around data in place, which was a huge complement to my personalised coaching skills.

“Coaching is really a relationship. In my experience, most business problems are a personal problem disguised as a business problem. Using APB’s data-driven approach will help me deliver a greater impact in the market and hone my skills even further.”

APB acquired Canada-based coaching company, Best Contractor Coach on 10 January 2021.
