The US$18bn mega-project will expand Hong Kong International Airport from the current two-runway system into a Three-runway system (3RS). The project includes reclamation of 650 hectares of land, construction of a third 3.8km runway, a new passenger concourse, expansion of the existing Terminal 2, provisional of a new 2.6km automated people mover, a new, high-speed baggage handling system along with the construction of other associated airport support infrastructure and utilities.
